Janneke has a background in social work and now works with Count Everyone In – a charity which inspires and equips God’s church to be welcoming and accessible to all, especially adults with a learning disability.
Janneke is also a Makaton tutor and has developed a Christian Makaton workshop (Know & Grow Makaton) which has opened up this simple, useful, expressive form of communication to churches up and down the country.
Tom (pictured left) is leading the team looking after the Base and is part of the Detached youth team as well. He has been a youth leader for the past two and a half years and works at a church in the middle of nowhere in Devon. He absolutely loves Jesus and can do a pretty decent impression of a crow.
Tom is pictured with James Pettit, who is also helping to lead the Base.
Cath is an international gospel singer, creative communicator, author, poet, podcaster and one third of SOW Acapella, who also happens to feature in hit sitcom ‘Gavin and Stacey’. Cath leads the creative collective ‘Sound Of Wales’ with her husband Dai and she is a regular contributor on BBC Radio 2 ‘Pause for Thought’.
Cath is also head of Wales for 24/7 Prayer.
Cath will be hosting The (not so) Late show with Dai.
Dai is an award winning storyteller, spoken word poet and author, blending rhythm and rhyme with passion, playfulness, and colloquial prose. Dai is host of the Spoken Word Stage at Big Church Festival, Creative Specialist for Bible Society and runs Urban Wordsmiths in Cardiff. He has performed at Westminster Hall, Lambeth Palace and Trafalgar Square, and is also author of several books including 'God's Brilliantly Big Creation Story', ‘The Story Of God’s Amazingly Awesome Rescue Plan’, 'Prayers, Texts and Tears' and 'Six Beasts One Story'.
Dai is hosting The (not so) Late Show with Cath in Minehead.
Katie is a founder and ministry leader at Our Fathers House Recovery Ministry in east London. Our Father's House is a Christian recovery ministry bridging the gap between the 12 step fellowships and the church.
David is an Assemblies of God Pastor and has served as a prison chaplain since April 2002. He leads a multi-faith chaplaincy team in a public sector prison. He is passionate about chaplaincy and keen to help others on their journey into chaplaincy.
He will be speaking in the 'How to Break into Prison' seminar on Tuesday afternoon.
A farmer’s daughter, a Chaplain, a guitarist, and a lover of Dartmoor, Kathryn is most at home in God’s creation. Her artwork is inspired by transformation; much of her practice draws from the Greek word 'Katartizo,' carrying a meaning beyond restoration. She breathes new life into discarded scrap metal, crafting large-scale and functional sculptures that evoke light and memory. Kathryn is currently carrying out study research for her MA which explores the importance of creativity and objects of significance in journeying with grief and remembrance.
Matt is senior leader of Zeo Church and founder of RebootYourLeadership.com, a training and retreat programme for Christian leaders in business, charity, and church. Matt brings nearly 40 years of leadership experience across commercial, charitable, and faith sectors. He began his career as an IT manager, then spent 18 years as chief executive of Urban Saints. For the past 12+ years he has led Zeo, recently championing a new vision to grow as a micro-church movement.
Presenter, actor and writer Ashley Joseph has been involved in many well known TV shows. He writes for and voices the role of Jared in the BBC animated series JoJo & Gran Gran and plays Gary in Justin's House. He has also played the role of Clank in the CBeebies Robin Hood pantomime, plus guest roles in EastEnders and BBC's Doctors. Ashley has written for Dog Squad on CBeebies and won a multitude of awards. An accomplished theatre performer also, he is looking forward to joining the Big Start team this year, bringing together his faith and creative gifts!
