Essential Christian is pleased to announce that Jo Moir has been appointed the new Head of Spring Harvest and begins her role on 21 July 2025. She succeeds Abby Guinness who has held the role for eleven years.
Jo has a diverse and unique mix of skills and experience which make her a great fit for the ministry of Spring Harvest. She spent ten years as a midwife before moving into ordained ministry and hospital chaplaincy. She has a Masters in Applied Theology, has taught at William Booth College and comes directly from a role as Territorial Communications Officer at the Salvation Army’s UK Headquarters.
In her role Jo has curated events at the Royal Albert Hall and ICC Birmingham and Wales. She has been a regular writer and presenter of Sunday Worship on BBC Radio 4 and taken part in TV documentaries, including as Mentor to Paul O’Grady when he trained as a Salvation Army volunteer.
Essential Christian is the charity that runs Spring Harvest. CEO, Phil Loose, said, “We are really looking forward to welcoming Jo to the team. Her experience in events and communications is invaluable, not to mention her grasp of theology and pastoral care. Most importantly, she shares our passion for all ages to encounter Jesus and be equipped for life with him. She will also help to carry forwards our strong history of motivating Christians for mission and justice. We’re really excited to see what the future holds.”
Jo has enjoyed Spring Harvest as a guest and is pleased to be joining the team behind the scenes.
“I loved Spring Harvest as a young person and more recently it has been pivotal in the faith journey of my family. I’m grateful to Abby for the gracious way she has helped prepare me for this role and her continued input. I trust God for what’s ahead and I’m excited to become part of this extraordinary team.”
In 2026 the event theme will be 'No Greater Life: embracing God’s design for wholehearted love.' Jo would love to meet you there. Join us 30 March-3 April in Skegness and 6-10 April in Minehead.
