At Spring Harvest, everyone follows the same curriculum, so whilst you're learning about The Source in the adult programme, your kids will be learning about it too in simple, engaging bites.
The Big Start - early morning
The Big Start introduces the day's theme and is a lively way to begin the day. It's suitable for all ages – so come along and join us for praise, worship, creative prayer and drama from our Big Start team.
All-age Celebrations
Each evening, there's an opportunity for families to worship together at the All-age celebration. It's repeated each evening to fit in around bedtimes, so every family gets the opportunity to enjoy an interactive hour of worship with puppets, action songs, stories and the opportunity to play instruments alongside the dedicated band.
Programme age limits
The kids programme is split into the following age groups. Our kids programmes are monitored by Ofsted so we need to adhere to staff ratios. This means your kids need to stay in the programme for their specific age-group, however:
- Rising 5s: If your 4 year old has been in school from the September before Spring Harvest and full-time for a term, they can choose to join the 5-7s programme
- 8-11s: 11 year olds can choose either the 8-11s programme or the Distinctive youth programme (for 11-14s)
Under Fives
The under fives programme for children aged 3 months and older is run for 3 sessions a day, and your child can be registered for one morning session and one afternoon; 10-11.15am or 11.45am – 1pm and then 3.45-4.45pm
5-7s
Kids in this age group meet all morning, from 10am (after the all-age Big Start celebration), until 1pm (lunchtime). There is no meeting in the evening.
8-11s
Older children meet all morning from 10am – 1pm and again each evening, from 6.45-8.45pm.
Children's registration
If your child attends the Under Fives, 5-7s or 8-11s programme, you'll need to register them by popping in to their venue on the day you arrive at Spring Harvest. To speed things up, you can download their registration forms in advance and fill them out before you come. You can register your child/ren from 3pm on Day 1.
Children in Adult Venues
Children under 3 months are welcome in the adult programme venues, we just ask that you kindly consider your fellow guests. Children from 3 months to 5 years are not permitted in adult venues as they have their own specialist programme.
Spring Harvest TV
We understand that many parents are unable to leave young children and don’t want to miss out on the teaching, so all accommodation (except Silver Caravans) have TVs which show Chalet TV broadcasts.
These channels screen the majority of meetings in the Big Top (Bible teaching, a Zone, evening celebration), are broadcast live, and repeated afterward on one of two channels.
Babysitting service for lone parents
If you're a lone parent or carer on your own at Spring Harvest, have a chat to the Team in the Nursery who may be able to arrange babysitting, so you can get out to the programme in the evening sometime.
Children with additional needs
If your child has a special need (anything that may mean they need a little extra care and attention), please let us know in advance - it helps us cater for him or her as far as possible.
There's a dedicated Special Needs co-ordinator in each children's venue and we provide multi-sensory areas to enable children with special needs to participate in the programme as they're able to and chill out a bit when they need that too.
